This away "Statement Edition" jersey was worn by Luka Dončić on November 19, 2018, when the Dallas Mavericks played the Memphis Grizzlies.

Dončić recorded his first career double-double, finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block. The Mavericks lost to the Grizzlies, 98-88.

Luka Dončić is popularly referred to as "Luka Magic" for a reason. Dončić has led the Dallas Mavericks to the playoffs the last three seasons including an appearance in the 2022 Western Conference Finals. He made his senior debut with Spanish club Real Madrid in 2015 at only 16 years of age. Before long, he became the best player in Europe, leading Real Madrid to a EuroLeague title in 2018 and earning EuroLeague MVP honors. 

The Dallas Mavericks traded for Dončić after he was selected with the 3rd overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Though some questioned if his game would translate to the NBA, Dončić left no doubt during an explosive rookie season that saw him average 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6 assists and win the 2018-19 Rookie of the Year award. 

He improved his production the next three seasons, all of which culminated in 1st Team All-NBA selections. His incredible talent and poise as such a young player has put the entire league on notice for what is shaping up to be a legendary career. 

Dončić is a five-time NBA All-Star and has been named to the All-NBA 1st Team five times.
