  • Bound in half blue calf, floral gilt decorated spine, gilt lettered red morocco spine label, top edge gilt.


Includes the bookplates of "H. Buxton Forman" (his sale NY Anderson Galleries 1920 Lot #819)—J. O. Edwards & Joseph L. Lilienthal. Forman was a 19th c. scholar, book collector and forger whose bibliographic misdeeds (along with the other great 19th century forger T.J. Wise) were uncovered by John Carter and Graham Pollard in An Enquiry into the nature of certain Nineteenth Century pamphlets.
