Blancpain

Few dive watches are as iconic as the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Originally introduced in 1953, it is considered one of the first dive watches, evolving into a diverse line of sizes, colors, and complications since its inception.

Created by Jean-Jacques Fiechter, Blancpain's CEO and an avid diver, the watch was inspired by a near-fatal diving incident. Its design set the standard for dive watches, combining durability, water resistance, a secure rotating bezel, anti-magnetic properties, and exceptional readability. Named after a song from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, the Fifty Fathoms revolutionized watchmaking and established principles that still define the category.

This specific watch is one of only 500 produced in this limited-edition format. Its standout features include, but are not limited to, a dual time zone displayed in a 24-hour format on the dial and a rotor designed to resemble a ship’s propeller.
