- 14.7 cm, 5 3/4 in.
the exterior finely carved in high relief with the 'Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove' engaged in leisurely pursuits, one of the elders writing calligraphy, two others enjoying the dense shade of the bamboos, while three scholars focusing on a chess game on the other side, all attended by their attendants within a rocky mountain valley filled with lush pine and bamboo trees, the bamboo of chocolate-brown tone, the base with three short feet
Condition
The brushpot is in good condition, with only minute nibbling along the extremities and minor age splits to the base, as expected of its age.
