  • 20.6 cm, 8 1/8  in.
each well incised on the flat interior with a pair of archaistic kui dragons sinuously writhing around a shou medallion, the design echoed on the exterior with a frieze of kui dragons rendered in archaistic scrollwork, all covered in a misty pale green glaze, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a reign mark within a double circle

Condition

The dishes are in good overall condition. There are minor firing imperfections including stained glaze crackles to the rim, which has been lightly worn/polished.

A Yongzheng dish of this size and pattern in the collection of the Nanjing Museum, similarly enveloped overall in a celadon glaze, was included in the exhibition Qing Imperial Porcelain, Art Gallery, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, 1995, cat. no. 40 top right; and another example in the Tianminlou collection, was exhibited in Chinese Porcelain in the S.C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong, 1987, cat. no. 157, and again in Auspicious Emblems.
