Catalogue Note
The Special Reconaissance Regiment, abbreviated to SRR, was formed in 2005 and is a Special Forces Regiment of the British Armed Forces. The SRR was established in order to conduct a wide range of classified reconnaissance and surveillance missions related to the global war against terror. The exact number of personnel of the regiment is officially unknown, however it is speculated that it contains between 500 and 700 members. Rolex has a strong connection to several military regiments but perhaps the link with the SRR is one of the most sought after. Rolex engraved these watches with the SRR emblem on the caseback and they feature the issue number of that particular watch. These watches were then directly supplied by Rolex to the SRR.
This particular watch bears the no. BA007, making it the 7th watch from this special batch of only 66 pieces. The present lot is unworn with the protective stickers still in place and this set includes the original presentation case, the SRR certificate, the Rolex Guarantee card confirming the SRR buyer of the piece, matching hang tag and booklets, making it a complete set and a truly desirable collector’s item.
