- Châsse called "à poupées"
- champlevé, engraved and gilt copper, enamelled in light blue, dark blue, red, green, yellow and white, with polychrome glass cabochons
- 14.5 x 13 x 6.5 cm; 5 3/4 x 5 1/8 x 2 5/8 in.
one side with six "poupées" applied on two gilt and guilloché copper plaques engraved with flowers and inlaid with cabochons; the other side with two enamelled plaques with geometric pattern; each pinnacle enamelled with an angel; surmounted by a crest; on a wood core

Condition
Some of the glass cabochons could be replacements. Two of the applied "poupées" are slightly loose and can be easily reattached, The "poupée" in the centre of the lower register appears to be a replacement. The crest appears to be a later replacement. Two gilt copper embossed mounts appear to be associated. The two champlevé pinacles and the two champlevé plaques with minor losses and general wear to the gilding. Somes nails are missing. The lock of the two hinged door to the back of the chasse does not close properly. Otherwise very rare and attractive Medieval work of art.
