- 17.1 cm, 6 3/4 in.
cast seated in lalitasana on a double-lotus base with beaded edges, depicted with the hands held in varada and vitarkamudra, framed by a pair of pendulous earlobes adorned with ornate wheel-shaped earrings and an elaborate crown enclosing a high chignon, wearing a dhoti and a loose shawl over the shoulder, a billowing shawl falling neatly over the lotus base
Condition
There are general wear to the surface and losses to the inlays throughout, The tips to the crown are slightly bent. A section of the beaded decorations to the back of the figure has chipped off (approx. 1.7 cm) and the lotus step below the right foot is also missing.. There are some small parts of restorations visible, including a patching (approx. 0.5 x 0.5 cm) to the front of the lotus base, another (approx. 0.6 x 0.3 cm) to the right side underneath the right knee, and possibly the finger of the left hand.
