gilt bronze, brass and ammonite fossil
Signed C de Muzac on the base
Provenance
La Galerie Parisienne, Paris
Condition
Good overall condition. The brass shade presents with a few rare light scratches and with a few rare and rather small area with pitting of oxidation. The base presents with light surface oxidation. The stem holding the ammonite has been glued to the base at some point in the history of the piece. The stem is no longer glued but there are glue remnants around. The ammonite fossil presents with some chips on one side, inherent to the history of the fossil and with a few scratches and scuffs on the other side, not visually distracting. The colour of the ammonite is not fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, it is more beige and less grey. Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician.
