  • 7.3 cm, 2 7/8  in.
the seated sage leaning to one side with the weight supported on his right arm, with a lion crouching before him eyeing at a brocade ball held in his raised left hand, wearing a long robe hanging on one shoulder revealing his large belly, his face with a benevolent expression and a gentle smile framed by a curling beard, the bamboo patinated to a reddish brown tone

Condition

The head of the figure has been broken off and re-fixed. There are expected minor flakes to the fragile areas of the carving.
