together with a Russian pokerwork box, early 20th century, decorated with a monastery in the snow and a collection of pre-revolutionary banknotes comprising six 500 ruble bills (dated 1912), twenty-two 100 ruble bills (dated 1910) and seventeen 100 ruble bills (1898)

Provenance

Possibly Vladimir de Kosikowsky (d.1917) who was married to Geraldine Somerset (d.1938) the sister of Rose Smith, interestingly according to Burke's Peerage and Baronetage (106th edition, 1999, vol. I, p. 224) Kosikowsky was Chamberlain at the court of the last Tsar.
