The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is stable with pronunced circular craquelure throughout. No areas of loss are visible to the naked eye. Under UV inspection, areas of retouching are visible throughout the background, concentrated at the upper right, lower left, and lower right, some of which are in response to frame abrasions. Retouching is not visible on the figure. The painting can hang as is, but would likely benefit from a varnish. Offered in a decoratively carved gilt wood frame.
