Condition
It has not been possible to examine the work entirely unframed. The panel is sound and glued on the frame along the edges of the verso which are not visible. The frame is probably by the artist. Examination under UV light reveals two areas of retouching to the lower right quadrant and some additional scattered small dots of retouching, notably to the brown shape at the centre of the composition. There are some surface scratches along the extreme edges with associated minor paint losses. There is some light abrasion to the extreme edges with associated pigment losses. There are a few further tiny paint losses to the white impasto, only visible under close inspection. This work is in overall good condition. Dimensions of the framed work are 99,8 x 72,8 cm. There are some minor stains and one small hole to the upper edge of the artist’s frame, which is in overall very good condition.
