Condition
The board is slightly bowed towards its centre. There are nailheads at each corner. There is a small crease in the board in the extreme lower left corner. There are very minor nicks and flecks of loss to all four extreme edges. There are some inconsistencies in the green pigment. There is some reticulation in the two circular sweets at the lower edge. There are some raised areas of the board throughout, largely due to accretions in the paint, with some minor associated rubbing. There is some minor surface dirt and studio matter throughout. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals areas of retouching on the nailheads, a 1cm vertical scratch at the centre of the upper edge, and an inconsistent varnish. There are on or two spots of retouching elsewhere. The work is held within the Artist's slip frame.
