Catalogue Note
Created within the Manifattura Giuseppe Mazzotti in Albisola, just two years after his participation to the first Incontro internazionale della ceramic seeing the participation of some former CoBrA members such as Karel Appel, Corneille and Asger Jorn, this work by Emilio Scanavino reveals a dramatic sense of violence evoked by the combined use of deep cuts and vibrant colors. Such research on Informale aesthetic through sign and gesture acts as a bridge between his work in ceramics and painting.
