Description

Set with an oval sapphire weighing 71.10 carats, within a double frame of circular-cut diamonds, central cluster and brooch fitting detachable, screwdriver deficient.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 106269, stating that the sapphire weighing 71.10 carats, measuring 26.40 x 20.67 x 14.37mm, is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. Sapphire blue of medium strong saturation, surface-reaching inclusions visible to the naked eye. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 18.00 - 20.00 carats, on average J-K colour, SI-I clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Evidence of soldering to the reverse, signs of wear consistent with age. detachable brooch fitting, central cluster and brooch fitting detachable, screwdriver deficient. Gross weight approximately 43 grams.
