Description

Each of chandelier design, set with oval and cushion-shaped rubies weighing approximately 17.73 carats in total, decorated with kite-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, post and butterfly fittings.

Please note that the Gübelin report no. should read 19081089 / 1 and 2 and not 18121090 / 1 and 2 as stated in the printed catalogue. Accompanied by SSEF report no. 105114, dated 6 March 2019, stating that the rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, SSEF further stating that the colour of these rubies may also be called 'pigeon blood red'; also accompanied by SSEF Appendix letter stating that "...the analysed properties are consistent with those found in rubies from the classical mines in the Mogok valley and for two rubies from the reputed deposit in Mong Hsu (southeast of Mogok)..." Further accompanied by Gübelin report no. 19081089 / 1 and 2, dated 2 January 2019, stating that the rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, Gübelin further stating that the tradecolour of some rubies are called pigeon blood red. Please refer to the reports and appendix letters for further details. Backing inscribed 750 for 18 karat white and yellow gold. Backing inscribed R17.73 and D6.21 referring to the total weight of the rubies and the kite-shaped diamonds respectively. Rubies of medium dark red colour and strong saturation, under 10x magnification, there are typical inclusions with some surface reaching, some tiny chips and nicks, and a few cavities but hardly noticeable when worn. Kite-shaped diamonds are about F - G colour, mostly VS clarity as graded in the mount. Brilliant-cut diamonds are bright and lively. Signs of very minor wear to the metal, overall in very good condition.
