In-4 (293 x 235 mm). Cartonnage illustré en couleurs de l’éditeur. Minimes frottements au dos, petit accident à la coiffe supérieure. Édition limitée à 1 500 exemplaires sur vélin de Rives numérotés et signés (n° 1288) au crayon brun, et signée par Picasso au crayon. 6 eaux-fortes hors texte, dont une à l’aquatinte, accompagnées de 34 dessins lithographiés en bistre dans le texte. "Le choix de Picasso comme illustrateur n’est sans doute pas sans rapport avec la parution des Métamorphoses en 1931 [chez Skira] Picasso maintient en effet pour Lysistrata le style classique des 'Métamorphoses', caractérisé notamment par la pureté de la ligne et l’équilibre de la composition. […] Picasso a pris la liberté de choisir les scènes qui lui convenaient le mieux, de sorte que les illustrations et surtout les eaux-fortes sont réparties de manière inégale à travers le livre" (Cramer).
