Description

  • Height 6 1/2  in. (16.5 cm.)
seated in dhyanasana on a lotus pedestal base with cloth draped down the front, the left hand holding a chatra, the body adorned with elaborate jewelry and wrapped with a billowing celestial scarf around the shoulders and arms, the face with a benevolent expression framed by rosette earrings and surmounted by an floral five-point diadem, her hair arranged in a tiered dome chignon and pigmented blue Himalayan Art Resources item no. 13612.

Condition

Very good overall condition. With only minor accretion around the upper part of the torso, shoulders and face, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Traces of blue and red polychromy along the hair and inner part of the crown. The base plate replaced and secured with a cork panel with red velvet cover adhered on top.
