Condition
The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals a line of retouching (approximately 15cm. long) to the face of the central figure relating to a repaired tear with some minor associated craquelure. There is evidence of frame abrasion along all four edges, notably to the upper edge, which is not visible when framed. The impasto is thick and the colours are bright and fresh. This work is in overall good condition.
