Condition
The canvas is lined. Examination under UV light reveals a thick layer of varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, and there does not appear to be evidence of retouching. There is fine and stable craquelure to the composition, and an associated spot of paint loss to the flowers at the centre of the upper edge. There is evidence of paint shrinkage, notably to the lower right quadrant of the work. This work is in overall fairly good condition.
