Catalogue Note

Developed by MB&F and in partnership for engineering by L’Epée 1839, the present clock is a very cute robot that tells the time. Its name, Sherman, is derived from the prolific M4 Sherman tank used by the USA, named after General William Tecumseh Sherman. While the name may have originated by a war scenario, the present timepiece is a robot of peace. Sherman is not simply a clock inside a robot, but an integral and holistic robot-form clock. The movement plates and bridges make up the skeleton and body of the robot. Its mainspring barrel bridge extends down to support its rubber caterpillar tracks. The regulator symbolizes Sherman’s brain at work and is covered under a glass dome, which acts like a skull. The arms are movable and the rubber caterpillar tracks are fully functional.

Limited to 200 pieces only and complete with all original accessories, the present clock is in like new condition.
