Catalogue Note

Always known for its functionality and durability, the Rolex Submariner has a long reputation of representing perfect professional watches that served as tools and which functions went far beyond simply telling the time. However in the modern era, Rolex had transcended the image of it's brand and became the icon of Swiss luxury watches. At the 2010 Basel world, Rolex had decided to introduce an extremely rare and limited Rolex Submariner while also giving it the nickname the "Submariner Emerald" (ref. 116649EM). With 36 emeralds and 12 diamonds on the bezel, a pavé-set diamond dial with 8 emerald-set numerals and complete with a part pavé-set diamond bracelet, Rolex has transcended the present watch from an iconic model to an excitingly and attractive reiteration of how a contemporary tool watch should be.
