Condition

The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The repeating is in phase and has a very nice tone and clarity. The dial is intact and the case is very crisp with nice tight hinges. The cuvette with inscription. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. The fine quality movement of this watch was supplied to Dent by Nicole, Nielsen & Co. E. Dent & Co. was founded by Edward John Dent (1790-1853). Dent, a year before his death, was responsible for winning the contract for creating the Great Clock for England's parliament's clock tower, popularly referred to today as 'Big Ben'.
