Condition

MVT: is running at the time of cataloguing. CASE: in very good condition with sharp edges, nice proportions and crisp hallmark to the band. There are some signs of minor polishing and there is surface wear visible with the naked eye, including small dings to the bands. DIAL: in good condition with minor spotting visible with the naked eye, as well as some fine surface scratches and tarnishing to the indexes. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. Catalogue Note

Introduced in 1938, reference 570 was the very first large Calatrava model of Patek Philippe. Featuring subsidiary or sweep centre seconds and powered by calibre 12 SC or 27 SC, the present reference was produced in different materials including stainless steel, two-tone, all three shades of gold, as well as platinum. The reference is also fitted with different styles of dials. The offered watch is made in pink gold and is from the 2nd series manufactured between 1950-1960.
