Catalogue Note

Released in 2007, the Breguet Tourbillon Messidor pays homage to Abraham-Louis Breguet's invention: the tourbillon. The twirling gravity-compensating complication was indeed patented on 7 Messidor, year IX, corresponding to June 26, 1801 in the old calendar format.
This important skeletonised wristwatch offers an uncompromised view on the intricacies of the highly complex movement. No effort has been spared by the watchmakers who hand-finished every single part, to the wearer's absolute delight. The oversized flying tourbillon is evidently displayed and showcased on the dial, allowing for an uncluttered appreciation of the mechanical marvel at work. Its seamless integration to the fully visible movement creates an overwhelming sentiment of nostalgia, harking back to the golden age of handcraft, passion and functional complication work.
The present Breguet Tourbillon Messidor is fitted with a noble platinum case, expertly balancing the visual airness with the heavyweight of luxury.
This impressive and collectible timepiece is offered with its instruction manual and presentation case. The current retail price for this wristwatch is CHF 164,700.
