Catalogue Note

In the 50s when all brands across all industries were experimenting with the use of new technologies and materials, Patek Philippe had developed their first photoelectric movement which uses a solar panel as its power source instead of the traditional key-winding mechanism. The present lot is a rare example from 1970 with an unusual rhodium gilt case. The panels around the case are matching the dial and hands in a very attractive way, making this clock very appealing for anyone to have at home.
