Description

Comprising: a highly articulated collar necklace set with carved rubies and round diamonds, length 15 inches; and a pair of similarly-set earclips with detachable pendants; each signed Gianmaria Buccellati, with maker's marks and Italian assay and registry marks; circa 1970. With signed and fitted box.

Condition

In very good condition, with very little surface wear. Necklace and earclips inscribed 18K and 750 for 18 karat gold. The carved rubies, measuring from approximately 9.8 x 7.4 x 4.4 mm to 5.7 x 5.4 x 2.8 mm on the necklace, and from approximately 6.6 x 4.0 x 2.7 mm to 4.9 x 4.1 x 1.9 mm on the earclips, are medium strongly purplish red, slightly to heavily included, some with surface reaching inclusions, one ruby on the side of the necklace with a small drill hole noticeable under close inspection. The diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 15.00 carats in the necklace, and approximately 6.50 carats in the earclips, are approximately F-H color, predominately VS-SI clarity. Necklace clasp closes securely and is fitted with safety catch. Length of earclips approximately 2⅞ inches.
