Description

  • Height 14 1/2  in., 37 cm
robustly potted, rising from a flat foot to broad, rounded shoulders and a short waisted neck, freely painted with a dragon coveting a 'flaming pearl' among scrolling clouds within a scalloped reserve, the reverse with a phoenix, set between line borders and below a floral band at the shoulder, all painted in deep brown tones over a cream slip and under a clear glaze, the recessed foot unglazed

Condition

The jar is in good overall condition. There is a horizontal glaze tear half way around the body just above the base. There is expected wear to the surface and minor imperfections consistent with age and type.
