Of buckle design, composed of carved rock crystal flanked by palmette motifs set with old European and single-cut diamonds, accented by black enamel, signed Lacloche Frère, numbered 60, with French assay and partial workshop marks; circa 1925.

Condition

In good condition given the age of this piece. The reverse side with evidence of solder where the palmette motifs attach to the rock crystal. Minor evidence of adhesive below this area. French assay marks for platinum on the palmette motifs and for 18 karat (white) gold on the pin fitting. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 6.15 carats, are approximately G-J color, predominantly VS-SI clarity, with a few I clarity examples. The rock crystal in overall good condition, with some small chips to facet edges, predominantly by the palmette motifs, only visible under close inspection. The black enamel with significant loss on one palmette. To close brooch pull back catch, push down pin and release catch; will only close if pin is pushed in when catch is released. Dimensions approximately 3¼ x 1¼ inch.
