Description

Supporting a pendant-brooch centering an emerald-cut emerald weighing approximately 8.90 carats, framed and accented by old European, baguette and tapered baguette diamonds, suspended from a necklace composed of clusters of round and marquise-shaped diamonds, length 16¼ inches.

Condition

In good condition, the mountings with surface scratches commensurate with wear, and the pendant-brooch with evidence of small amounts of solder to the reverse, not noticeable when worn. The emerald is slightly loose yet stable in the mounting and may benefit from the attention of a jeweler. One pinstem slightly bent at the tip; the necklace with a few links slightly misaligned. Mountings test as platinum. The emerald is medium deep very slightly bluish green, moderately included. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 40.00 carats, including the three largest diamonds in the brooch estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.95 carats, are approximately G-K color, predominantly VS clarity in the necklace, VS-SI clarity in the pendant-brooch. Total gross weight approximately 58 dwts. Pendant-brooch measurements approximately 1⅝ x 1¼ inches; necklace width approximately ⅜ inch. Pendant-brooch with clip-brooch fitting.
