Description
The pendant designed as an egg, set with cushion-shaped diamonds and inscribed 'Carpe Diem', signed Hemmerle, opening to reveal a brooch modelled as an owl set with a pear-shaped diamond stated to weigh 5.03 carats, its eyes set with brilliant-cut diamonds of brown tint, the pendant suspended from three hoops set with circular-cut diamonds, to a necklace composed of oval links, length approximately 770mm.
Condition
Interior of pendant signed Hemmerle, stamped with maker's mark GH and 750. Necklace and owl unsigned but stated to be 18 carat rose gold (branch copper). Pendant detachable. Total diamond weight on pendant links stated to be 2.99 carats. Total diamond weight on pendant (between letters of CARPE DIEM) stated to be 2.65 carats. Pear-shaped diamond in the body of the owl stated to weigh 5.03 carats, unable to gauge colour due to setting, estimated clarity VS2, as graded within the mount. Total weight of brown diamonds in the eyes stated to be 0.15 carats. Egg-shaped pendant opens and the owl fits inside. Combined gross weight approximately 204 grams. Overall condition good.
