Catalogue Note

The color of the slightly bluish green background, the style of the birds and the gilding make it possible to suggest a dating around 1757-1758. These plates could come either from the service offered by Louis XV to King Frederick V of Denmark in 1758, or the small green background service with twelve plates purchased by King Louis XV in 1758 through the merchant Lazare Duvaux, or service described Verd Oiseaux et fleurs delivered May 16, 1759 to the Comte de Choiseul, future Duke of Choiseul-Praslin, cousin of the Duke of Choiseul-Stainville (David Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services of the 18th Century, 2015, Vol II, No. 57-2, 58-1 & 59-1).
