Condition
Good overall condition. This lot has been restored under Sotheby's supervision by a professional lacquer restorer. The lacquer of both tables presents with some rather rare instances of light wear - consistent with age and use and partially visible on the catalogue illustration - mostly concentrated along the edges of the top, and slightly more visible on the larger table. There are a few minute indentations, some rare scratches and some light instances of surface soiling on both tables. On both tables, some previous dents and chips have been professionally restored. Several structural cracks have been professionally infilled and/or stabilized. The intervention on the largest table was lighter that the one on the smallest table and the lacquer of the larger table appears more worn than the one of the smallest table. There are some tiny craquelures along the seams on both tables, consistent with age and use.
