sculpture in patinated bronze and malachite
Condition
Good overall condition. The patina presents with light surface scratches and overall light handling wear, concentrated along the protruding arears. The surface presents with a few instances of pitting and some scattered minute stains of light oxidation, partially visible in the catalogue illustration. All consistent with age and use. There are a few very minute dents scattered, not visually distractive. Several elements of the crown can be unscrewed. One tiny piece of the larger element is broken and missing (visible on the online catalogue illustration). This element presents with a previous socket on the inside - as this bust was originally electrified (and there is a wire-exit hole at the back of the base). The malachite egg and earrings are later. The earrings have been previously broken and restored. An additional malachite egg (of a different form) is sold with this lot.
