Catalogue Note
"For the majority of mankind living in cities, nature is merely the background, the landscape...Krajcberg intuits nature not with the cold methodical precision of a botanist, but with the artist's emotion at his finger tips. He lives it from within: its texture, its internal rhythms, that which feeds it, the threats it faces, its odors and perfumes, the stages in its growth, its diseases, its death...A tree continues its life cycle in others, feeding them with its leaves and bark. This is the cycle of renewal." Frederico Morais, "Frans Krajcberg: Art Born of Defiance" in Frans Krajcberg Revolta, Rio de Janeiro 2004, pp. 181-182
