Condition
This work is in excellent condition overall. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat in all four corners. All edges of the sheet are deckled, and there are slight undulations throughout. The scattered splotches of ink are inherent to the artist's working method. Framed under Plexiglas.

"Pettibon's surfer drawings capture an existentialist moment where the surfer rides a fine line of beauty for a short time until nature inevitably engulfs and destroys him—a metaphor for life itself."
