Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although fails to fully convey the reflective nature of the mirror and the iridescent qualities of the gold paint. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Extremely close inspection reveals a few tiny losses to some of the peaks and some superficial scuffs to the mirror and Plexiglas. Further extremely close inspection reveals a few minute speck of loss and drying cracks to the extreme edges of the artist's artist's frame. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra violet light.

Catalogue Note

"Mack’s works have a transcendental, meditative effect on the viewer, engulfing him or her in a timeless sea of light, colour and rhythm that requires no explanation but rather time to experience each piece” (Elizabeth Clark cited in: Exh. Cat., Ben Brown Fine Arts, Hong Kong, Heinz Mack: Colour, Light, Rhythm, 2011, p. 3).
