Condition
Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although it fails to fully convey the iridescent qualities of the gold paint. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Very close inspection reveals some rub marks and spots of wear to all four extreme corner tips and some tiny losses to the area of soot at the centre of the canvas, which are inherent to the artist's working process. Further very close inspection reveals some very fine hairline cracks in isolated places throughout. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
