À propos de ses commentaires sur un article sur Mozart. Berlioz envoie une autre copie de la note que Schlesinger a perdue, et l'incite à la publier dans l'édition du dimanche suivant du journal La Gazette musicale : "Voilà, mon cher Maurice, la note dont je vous ai parlé et que vous avez perdue à l'imprimerie. Tâchez qu'elle passe dans le n° de dimanche. J'y tiens. La réponse à l'article sur Mozart est suffisante et bien faite". De 1834 à 1846, Maurice Schlesinger était propriétaire et éditeur de la Gazette musicale, devenue ensuite Revue et Gazette musicale, avant qu'il ne la vende. Berlioz y publia de nombreux articles, critiques et commentaires, mais nous n'avons pu identifier la note à laquelle il fait référence ici. Provenance : Drouot, 26 juin 1986, lot 17. Maurice Schlesinger owned and published the Gazette musicale, later Revue et Gazette musicale, from 1834 to 1846, when he sold it. Berlioz wrote many articles reviews and comments for the journal, but it is not clear which one this note refers to.
