Description

  • Length 2 1/8  in., 5.2 cm
the recumbent bird with its head turned back grasping a fruiting peach sprig in its beak, the wing and tail feathers delicately incised with fine lines, the feet fucked neatly under the body, the even white stone skillfully carved to incorporate patches of russet in the breast and feet

Condition

The carving is in good condition overall. There is small indent at the base where the stone has an inclusion. There is wear overall and scattered minute nicks to edges consistent with age and type.
