Description

  • 29 cm, 11 3/8  in.
of characteristic shape, the globular body surmounted by an everted neck and flanged rim resembling a gelupta monk’s hat, set with a loop handle with a ruyi terminal, decorated around the body with scrolling flowers in between borders of ruyi and lappets encircling the base, flower sprays and butterfly on the neck, clouds on the spout and ruyi scrolls on the rim and handle

Condition

There is a restoration to the handle and the trip of the spout, as visible in the catalogue photo. There are a few firing imperfections including small glaze gaps around the rims and shrinkage of the glaze near the top of the handle.
