Catalogue Note

"The nim-susani format refers to the mid-point between the two worlds. If one checks the (invisible) lines between the centre points of three motif units, either within the lozenge grid in the inner field, or in three adjacent motifs surrounded by the sinuous elevation motif in the border, one can discern angular marking lines of special star constellations, which would provide the path through the dark night into the next world."
