Catalogue Note

A French-language edition of Blaeu's Het licht der zee-vaert, a rare work any form. This version was published by Johannes Jansson, Blaeu’s direct competitor, who copied the text of Blaeu’s 1619 French edition, and had the plates re-engraved by Petrius Kaerius.
