Catalogue Note
FIRST EDITION of Bramer's description of his sector, which appeared shortly after Galileo's Le operazioni del compasso geometrico of 1606 (see lot 197). Bramer's sector has a removable arm which is attached to the main part with a pin at the end of each scale, which avoids the need for a complicated hinge.
