Sotheby's New York, June 17, 1997, lot 60A The plaque may refer to Edward Burt Covey (1872-1952), who was born in Otsego, New York and married Mina Bishop of Boston; he died in Los Angeles.

Condition

all knife blades tightly affixed, the table and entree knives with original Tiffany plated blades which are thinning at edges but still usable; no dents to hollow handles; no gaps in the case except 1 butter spreader missing, another butter spreader unengraved; overall set in very good condition; the wood case with some light scratches, the velvet lining intact and with only light soiling
