Condition

Under the naked eye: The painting appears to be in a good condition. The canvas has an old relining which is somewhat loose on its stretcher. We can notice some restorations in the sky on the upper right side. They could have been caused by an accident and a patch has been glued on the back (13 x 16.5 cm). It is located in an area running from the mountains towards the kite. Under UV light: The above mentioned damage caused by the accident on the right can be seen. Some other restorations are located in the lower left corner : they were probably done to hide the frame’s friction. Some retouchings can be seen in the left area of the sky. Another one is found in the mountains (ca. 1 cm in diameter). Finally, we can see some restorations lines : one is a vertical line found in the middle (15 cm) ; the second one is a horizontal line located at 4 cm from the upper edge. Offered with a carved and gilded wooden frame (damages and chips).
