- 15.5 cm, 6 1/8 in.
finely cast standing on a lotus base on a raised rectangular plinth, holding a willow branch in the left hand and a bottle vase in the right, wearing a dhoti and long scarves draped over the shoulder and arms, the face with a downcast gaze, below an elaborate headdress, framed by a mandorla
Provenance
Collection of Dr J.H. Zeeman, Charge d'Affairs, Embassy of the Netherlands, Beijing, 1954-1957.
Condition
The figure is in good condition, with the exception of a small bruise to one corner of the stand, and two cracks to the bottom of the stand (approx. 0.5 cm each). There are some light rubbing to the gilding throughout, and minor dents and scratching in various areas. The mandorla is possibly a marriage, and has been re-gilded to the front.
