  • The dish: 36 cm, 13 3/4  in.
the rounded lobed sides rising from a short tapering foot to an everted barbed rim, brightly enamelled to the interior with a pair of phoenix on rockwork and encircled at the rim by panels variously enclosing antiques, landscapes and flowers; together with a famille-verte 'Eight horses of Mu Wang' bowl, Kangxi period, and a famille-verte 'equestrian' bowl, Kangxi period

Provenance

Dish: Densmore, Paris, 9th September 1966.
'Mu Wang' bowl: Hotel des Ventes Drouot, Paris, 15th March 1982.
'Equestrian' bowl: acquired in London, December 1968.

Condition

The large dish has restoration to fritting encircling the rim and restoration to two of the lappet panels at the rim (at 8 and 9 o'clock); the 'Mu Wang' bowl has repaired breaks to approximately half of the footring and a 1cm., hairline rim crack; the 'equestrian' bowl has restoration to approximately half of the body.
