Catalogue Note
Ron Woods is the overseer of Flight Crew Equipment Preparation at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In his capacity as a Spacesuit Technician, Woods dressed Buzz Aldrin for the Apollo 11 mission, and Jim Lovell before Apollo 8. A graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Fine Arts, Ron has been painting for many years with a specialty in space hardware. These works depict Ronald Evans's spacesuit suspended on a hanger foregrounded against an abstract grey environment, and Harrison "Jack" Schmitt's spacesuit boots at the Paul E. Garber Facility, respectively.
